“Womensource is dedicated to encouraging personal and professional success to women and girls of all ages and backgrounds in northeast georgia by providing educational programs, including: girl power - a womensource workshop for teens and women who love them. This special half-day, free workshop celebrates young women. The goals of the event are to help young women explore ways to better their self-esteem, encourage them to lead a confident, healthy lifestyle, and empower them to take charge of their future. In 2016, 175 teens attended this event. Power lunch program - bi-monthly educational lunch program for women in a variety of subject areas. Programs range from inspirational to informative. Womensource partners with area agencies serving women and/or children to help increase awareness and give attendees the opportunity to show their support. In 2016, 420 women attended the power lunch series. Power breakfast series - educational breakfast program for women led by female leaders in our community. Participants were privy to up close and personal contact with high level women gleaning inspiration and encouragement from speakers as they shared their career autobiographies. In 2016, 135 women attended the power breakfast series. In addition to these ongoing programs, womensource provides one program a week focused on wellness, financial, and networking. Wellness programs included yoga, trail walking, hands only cpr training, and healthy cooking lessons. A financial program focused on first time homebuyers. Networking opportunities were offered at various business and local restaurants where women were encouraged to bring business cards and information about their work to share with one another. In 2016, 300 women participated in all of the events combined.”
