“Womensource is dedicated to encouraging personal and professional success to women and girls of all ages and backgrounds in northeast georgia by providing educational programs, including: power lunch program - monthly educational lunch program for women in a variety of subject areas. Speakers range from inspirational to informative. Womensource partners with area agencies serving women and/or children to help increase awareness and give attendees the opportunity to show their support. In 2014, 986 women attended the power lunch series. Financial program - womensource offers a free annual series to help women take control of their finances in a variety of situations. Past topics have included setting goals, understanding your credit score and how to improve it, setting up a plan to pay off debt, opening and managing a checking account, and setting up a support system to be successful. The series educated 32 women during 2014. Wellness program - womensource offers a free annual series on issues related to women's health. Past topics have included breast health and breast feeding, hormone replacement therapy, heart disease, bone density and osteoporosis, vascular health, and how to avoid middle age weight gain. 68 women attended our wellness series in 2014. Girl power--- a womensource workshop for teens and women who love them. This special half-day, free workshop celebrates young women. The goals of the event are to help young women explore ways to better their self-esteem, incourage them to lead a confident, healthy lifestyle, and empower them to take charge of their future. In 2014, 51 teens attended this event. In addition to these ongoing programs, womensource also offers screenings of movies and documentaries that are importatnt to women's history and/or current events and other networking events. 129 women attended our summer series (movies, networking, and progressive dinner).”
