| IRS990/Desc | 0 | PALS - PARTNERS ALWAYS LEND SUPPORTWindsor County Partners is in its 5th decade of building healthier communities through youth mentoring. WCP prides itself in providing quality mentoring experiences. The organization creates custom-matched mentorships. All of its programming is certified under rigorous Quality Mentoring Standards.Through its signature PALS (Partners Always Lend Support)program, WCP offers community-based mentoring to youth aged 7-18. Thanks to the PALS program, dozens of children benefited this year from a caring adult in their lives. In FY2018, a total of 24 matches were served in the PALS program. These mentoring partnerships meet for 2 hours per week for at least a year, with many partnerships continuing on for years.Reliable support from a caring mentor gives children the essential sense of belonging. This sense of belonging is a strong protective factor against risky behaviors that might result in harm to self or others. | IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | LDL - LET'S DO LUNCHWindsor County Partners prides itself in providing quality mentoring experiences. The organization creates custom-matched mentorships. All of its programming is certified under rigorous Quality Mentoring Standards. Through its Let's Do Lunch program, WCP offers school-based mentoring to youth aged 5 and up. Through the Let's Do Lunch program, in-school mentors are provided in Springfield, VT. Mentoring starts in elementary school and can be continued through high school. As Springfield children live in the town with the lowest average household income in Windsor County, extra services can help them succeed. A total of 6 active matches were served in the LDL program in FY2018 and two of these bridged successfully to our PALS program.The children in LDL matches received encouragement and a listening ear. LDL mentors meet with their mentees one hour per week throughout the school year. Children in LDL mentorships enjoyed fun times with an adult friend. These school-based experiences include board games, playground time, or just chatting. Many mentorships in the school-based program eventually bridge to WCP's community-based PALS program.More information about WCP is available on its website and Fecebook page. |
