Activity 2

Publications and resources -- cai publishes a wealth of resources for community associations, including books, guides, "common ground" magazine, and specialized newsletters on community association governance, law and community management. Cai also conducts research and acts as a clearinghouse for information on innovations and best practices in community association creation and management.

Activity 3

Advocacy -- cai's government and public affairs department represents the interests of community association residents and professionals before the u.s. Congress, federal agencies and a multitude of other policy-setting bodies on issues ranging from telecommunications, taxes, fair housing, insurance, bankruptcy reform, and private property protection. The legislative staff also works closely with over 30 state legislative action committees to protect members' interests before state and local legislative and regulatory bodies. Cai also prepares amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs in federal and state cases that pose questions of significant inportance in community association law.
