Mission and Program Overview

Business league for crafters

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Line 30 - Outreach and Promotion of Craft: The Craftworkers' Guild supported appreciation of arts and crafts in the community in several ways, despite the impact of Covid-19. Three scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors who planned to pursue higher education with creative components. The Guild contributed to the upkeep of the town-owned historic Oliver Kendall House, this reducing the tax burden on the community at large. Although further outreach and promotional activities were limited by Covid-19 restrictions, the organization was the focus of a feature article in a local magazine, which helped to bring in new members with different skills.$1,500-
Line 28 - Craft Events: The Craftworkers' Guild supported the ongoing development of its members as skilled and successful crafters and artisans by staging three major craft fairs, successfully transitioning from in-person events as in previous years, to online events due to the widespread circulation of the Covid-19 virus in our community. In spite of the challenges this presented, thirty-nine members earned $6,682 as a result of the 59 days the shop was open online during the business year.--
Line 29 - Member Services: The Craftworkers' Guild maintained a cordial and mutually supportive association of members who share an appreciation for arts, crafts and crafting, and the role these play in our culture and heritage. The organization also worked to preserve, develop and share crafting knowledge and skills, and promote excellence in craftsmanship. As a result, 61 members benefited from one-to-one member support and services that included the development of three new technical assistance documents about online craft sales and individual coaching as our members practiced their new skills. In-person meetings and events had to be suspended due to Covid-19 restrictions and precautions.--
