PRE-K COUNTS IS A FULL DAY PROGRAM FOR 3 TO 5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN WHO ARE AT-RISK FOR SCHOOL FAILURE. THE PROGRAM SERVED 48 CHILDREN AND IS SUPPORTED THROUGH THE POTTSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT.

SKILLS DEVELOPED INCLUDE READING, WRITING, MATH, ENGLISH LANGUAGE, AND WORKPLACE ESSENTIAL SKILLS WHICH TRANSITION LEARNERS TO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EMPLOYMENT. WE SERVED 136 ADULTS THROUGH THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAM IN PROGRAM YEAR 2015-16, WITH 15 VOLUNTEERS. IN ADDITION, WE COLLABORATED WITH THE POTTSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT TO OFFER PARENT EDUCATION CLASSES. HEALTHY CHOICES CURRICULUM DEVELOPED BY YWCA STAFF INCLUDES NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION, WELLNESS, FITNESS, LEADERSHIP, EMPOWERMENT, AND ADVOCACY. THE CURRICULUM IS AGE APPROPRIATE AND FLEXIBLE TO MEET THE CURRENT AND RELEVANT NEEDS IDENTIFIED BY STUDENTS. HEALTHY CHOICES, ESTABLISHED IN 2006, CURRENTLY SERVES GIRLS AGES 5-19 IN MONTGOMERY AND CHESTER COUNTIES IN 15 LOCATIONS. IN EARLY 2016, THE PROGRAM IS OFFERED IN TWO LOW-INCOME HOUSING COMMUNITIES TO EXPAND THE PROJECT'S REACH TO THE MOST VULNERABLE POPULATION OF GIRLS, SERVING 230 GIRLS AND UTILIZED 12 VOLUNTEERS. YWCA ALSO FACILITIES GIRLS TODAY, LEADERS TOMORROW (GTLT), THE SIGNATURE PROGRAM OF THE WOMEN'S INITIATIVE COMMITTEE OF THE UNITED WAY OF GREATER PHILADELPHIA AND SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY THAT EMPOWERS GIRLS IN POTTSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT IN GRADES 7 THROUGH 12. GTLT ENCOURAGES GIRLS TO EMBRACE THEIR LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL, HELPING THEM TO BECOME SELF-DIRECTED, SELF-REGULATED LEARNERS WHO STAY ON TRACK FOR GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL PREPARED FOR COLLEGE AND CAREER. GIRLS PARTICIPATING AT ALL 15 LOCATIONS AND ATTENDING SURROUNDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE INVITED TO COME TOGETHER AND PARTICIPATE IN A ONE DAY ALL GIRL HEALTH AND WELLNESS SUMMIT FACILITATED BY PROFESSIONAL WOMEN AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE WEST CAMPUS. TOTAL SERVED WAS 16. WOMEN EXCEL WAS CREATED TO BRING TOGETHER WOMEN TO FORGE ALLIANCES THAT LEAD TO PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. BY FORMING A SUPPORT NETWORK OF FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS AND MENTORS, WHO PROVIDE EMOTIONAL ASSISTANCE, EMPATHETIC COUNSEL AND PERSONAL GUIDANCE, THE COALITION SEEKS TO ENERGIZE, EMPOWER AND INSPIRE WOMEN TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. EXCEL HAD 100 MEMBERS. SUMMER CAMP PROVIDED A CAMP EXPERIENCE FOR 45 KIDS. THE ADULT WELLNESS PROGRAM PROVIDED YOGA AND ZUMBA CLASSES FOR 63 TEENS AND ADULTS.
