All related parties with a financial interest must not be present for deliberations and voting on the transaction or arrangement in which he or she has a financial interest. However, related parties are not prohibited from providing information regarding the transaction to the board prior to the boards deliberations. Ad-free and unaffiliated, kidspirit provides a critical outlet for teenagers everywhere to discover and highlight the essential humanity transcending divergent points of view. The magazine is in syndication on the huffington post and spirituality & practice and has won numerous awards from major educational, parenting, and spiritual organizations. Kidspirit aims to build a truly inclusive and welcoming conversation that emphasizes authenticity, personal growth, and engagement. All online issues of kidspirit are available free of charge, and anyone between the ages of 11 and 17 is invited to contribute or to join an editorial board. The organization also provides free group guides corresponding to each of its issues, an incredible resource for teachers, parents, or anyone hoping to spark youth-driven conversations.

Kidspirit celebrated its 15th year in print in 2022, and its network of young editors grew to include about 190 teenagers on 20 editorial boards in new york, california, kentucky, texas, puerto rico, australia, china, haiti, india, jordan, liberia, pakistan, paraguay, singapore, spain, taiwan, the u.k., and ukraine. Through their writing, art, video, and conversations, youth substantively engaged with the 2022 themes: time and space, who am i?, citizenship, and dreams and desires. Kidspirit's online workshops continued to play a vital role in supporting teens through the pandemic. By offering three unique workshop experiences (kidspirit connect, editing workshops, and the belonging project), kidspirit provided youth around the world opportunities for connection during a challenging time. Twenty-eight editors were selected by their peers to receive kidspirit awards this past year. Their artwork, articles, and poetry will be featured as part of the upcoming print anthology "15 years of kidspirit", to be published in early 2023. Through a partnership with unity productions foundation, kidspirit launched a new section of its website devoted to sharing poetry by youth from marginalized communities. These poems were created during the upf unfold your own myth program, designed to help young people overcome hardship and trauma through creative expression. Kidspirit continues to be syndicated on spirituality & practice, a platform that creates and curates meaningful content for hundreds of thousands of readers, on the blog kidspirit youth voices. In 2022, kidspirit received general operating grants from the ford foundation, mastercard impact fund, marc haas foundation, and m&t bank charitable foundation, growing its philanthropic foundation and corporate support. Finally, kidspirit continued to participate in the wider international community through consultative status with the united nations economic and social council (ecosoc) and formal association with the un department of global communications.
