Thanks u.s.a. Is a non-partisan, charitable effort to mobilize americans of all ages to "thank" the men and women of the united states armed forces. We do this by providing need-based college, technical, and vocational-school scholarships for their children and spouses.

RECIPIENTS COME FROM EACH OF THE 50 STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, AND REPRESENT ALL MILITARY BRANCHES INCLUDING THE GUARD AND RESERVE. IN 2011, WE PLAN TO AWARD 500 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF $1.5 MILLION. FOR THE LONGER RUN WE ARE RESEARCHING WAYS TO PROVIDE SOCIAL NETWORKING CAPABILITY SO THAT THANKSUSA MIGHT BEGIN TO LINK SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS TO MILITARY-FRIENDLY EMPLOYERS (AS WELL AS SOME OF OUR SPONSORS), THE GOAL BEING TO HELP MILITARY FAMILY MEMBERS GO BEYOND THE CLASSROOM TO DEVELOP SUCCESSFUL CAREERS AND ENHANCED EARNING POWER.IN 2006, WITH THE BENEFIT OF A DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE GRANT AND PRIVATE SECTOR CONTRIBUTIONS, THANKSUSA AWARDED OVER 1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE SPOUSES AND CHILDREN OF ACTIVE-DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL IN ALL 50 STATES. IN THE SUBSEQUENT THREE YEARS, THANKSUSA RAISED PRIVATE FUNDS TO AWARD ANOTHER NEARLY 1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS. OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS, THANKSUSA'S GOAL IS TO AWARD 500 SCHOLARSHIPS EACH YEAR TOTALING $1.5 MILLION IN NEEDS-BASED SUPPORT PER YEAR, THROUGH A VARIETY OF EVENTS, CORPORATE, INDIVIDUAL AND FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTIONS.
