Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

Nethope has one class of voting members, with each member entitled to one vote. In addition to the right to elect directors and such other powers and rights as vested in them by law, the certificate of incorporation, or our bylaws, the members shall have such other powers and rights as the board of directors may designate.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

Nethope has one class of voting members, with each member entitled to one vote. In addition to the right to elect directors and such other powers and rights as vested in them by law, the certificate of incorporation, or our bylaws, the members shall have such other powers and rights as the board of directors may designate.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Nethope provides a copy of the federal form 990 to the board of directors for review and responds to inquiries within a five day period, prior to filing with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Officers, directors, and key employees are required to sign a conflict of interest form each year at the board retreat.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The board of directors has the responsibility for reviewing and setting the ceo's compensation package. The personnel committee of the board reviews market data along with the ceo's performance in determining what an equitable compensation package should be and makes its recommendation to the board. In turn, the ceo is charged with preparing evaluations for nethope's senior management team based on each individual's performance during the current year. This data is then used by the ceo in setting compensation packages for the senior management team.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Nethope's federal form 990 is available through guidestar. The governing documents and conflict of interest policy are made available to the public upon request.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0THE GLOBAL BROADBAND AND INNOVATIONS (GBI) ALLIANCE WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE U.S. GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT LAB, THE USAID AFRICA BUREAU, USAID MISSIONS, AND USAID IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS WORLDWIDE TO BRING AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, AND COMPETITIVELY SERVICED BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS AND ONLINE SERVICES TO RURAL AND UNDERSERVED AREAS IN USAID PRIORITY COUNTRIES. IN FY 2018, THE GBI ALLIANCE PROJECTS HAD A NUMBER OF NOTEWORTHY IMPACTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY GBI ARE SPLIT INTO TWO BROAD CATEGORIES: (A) ACCESS AND (B) APPLICATIONS.(A) ACCESS PROJECTS FOCUS ON BRINGING AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, AND COMPETITIVELY SERVICED BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS (VOICE AND DATA) TO RURAL AREAS IN USAID PRIORITY COUNTRIES. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH BOTH TECHNOLOGICAL AND REGULATORY VEHICLES AND OFTEN INVOLVE CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGIES FOR LAST-MILE CONNECTIVITY.(B) APPLICATIONS PROJECTS USE CONNECTIVITY TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT SECTORS SUCH AS HEALTH, HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE, DEMOCRACY AND GOVERNANCE, ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DIGITAL INCLUSION, GENDER EQUALITY, AND EDUCATION. TOGETHER, ACCESS AND APPLICATION PROGRAMS MAKE UP A GBI PORTFOLIO OF THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS:LIBERIA: NETHOPE IS IMPLEMENTING INITIATIVES IN LIBERIA THAT BUILD ON ICT SECTOR ASSESSMENTS CONDUCTED IN THE WAKE OF THE EBOLA VIRUS CRISIS. A KEY ACTIVITY IS ASSISTING THE LIBERIA TELECOMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY (LTA) IN FULFILLING ITS VITAL ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT, PROMULGATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF MODERN, PRO-COMPETITIVE TELECOM SECTOR POLICIES.CAMBODIA: NETHOPE LAUNCHED A PROGRAM IN CAMBODIA IN JULY 2016 AS PART OF CONTINUING USAID ASSISTANCE TO THE MINISTRY OF POST AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS (MPTC) TO HELP ESTABLISH AND OPERATIONALIZE A UNIVERSAL SERVICE OBLIGATION (USO) FUND. THIS ENGAGEMENT WILL IMPROVE ACCESS TO VITAL COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS FOR RURAL CAMBODIANS WHILE ALSO PROVIDING KEY RESOURCES FOR MANY OTHER SECTORS, INCLUDING PROGRAMS OF PRIORITY INTEREST TO THE USAID MISSION. GIVEN THE CURRENT CAMBODIAN GOVERNMENT'S ANTI-DEMOCRATIC EFFORTS, USAID AND NETHOPE HAVE SUSPENDED ITS WORK IN CAMBODIA UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. AFGHANISTAN: THE USAID MISSION IN KABUL AND THE AFGHAN TELECOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY (ATRA) ASKED NETHOPE FOR EXPERTISE TO STRENGTHEN ITS UNIVERSAL ACCESS PROGRAM AND ITS TELECOMMUNICATIONS DEVELOPMENT FUND (TDF) THAT FINANCES IT. THIS WORK IS ONGOING. IN ADDITION, BEGINNING IN FY2019, NETHOPE WILL PARTNER WITH ATRA TO FACILITATE ISSUANCE OF SPECTRUM BANDWIDTH FOR 4G MOBILE BROADBAND USE. GENDER INCLUSION: FORMED BY USAID, NETHOPE, AND INTEL, THIS INITIATIVE FOCUSES ON CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ICT ACCESS AND USE IN KENYA AND NIGERIA. WITH NETHOPE PARTNERS, WORLD VISION AND WORLD PULSE, MORE THAN 100,000 WOMEN HAVE BEEN TRAINED IN THE PAST THREE YEARS. FORMAL DIGITAL LITERACY TRAINING HAS NOW CONCLUDED, AND A FEW POST-PROGRAM STUDIES ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY, SKILLS RETENTION, AND SOCIOECONOMIC INDICATORS WERE COMPLETED IN EARLY 2018. DIGITAL FINANCE (DF): NETHOPE HAS PARTNERED WITH STRATEGIC IMPACT ALLIANCE (SIA) TO FOCUS AND EXECUTE INTEGRATING DIGITAL FINANCIAL SERVICES ACROSS USAID'S PORTFOLIO THROUGH (1) TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN-COUNTRY, (2) GRANTS TO DEEPEN PREPAREDNESS FOR DIGITAL PAYMENTS IN HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE, AND (3) PROGRAMMING FOCUSED ON DIGITAL FINANCIAL SERVICES AND WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT. IN-DEPTH IN-COUNTRY ENGAGEMENTS CONTINUE IN RWANDA, UGANDA, AND NIGERIA.
