Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
As is customary at Bo Ai School, Bo Ai is always busy with so many events, visitors, and new endeavors. In 2018 169 Foreign Nationals and 104 Chinese Nationals came to work towards the common goal in making a difference for our students and for our collective future. These are names that live in our hearts. Thanksgiving Season is a time to reflect on the many blessings that Bo Ai has been grateful for. In the last school year, out of 56 elementary schools in Qinyuan County, our Bo Ai 5th grade students ranked Number One. Our 8th Grader students scored number 1 out of 7 Middle School in the Qinyuan County. Yet we have to work harder so our 6th grade students will continue to attend Bo Ai's 7th grade Middle School. As it is now, the better 6th grade graduates leave Bo Ai and attend other Qinyuan high schools. One of the reasons is that we do not have a Senior High School and as well the parents want their children to leave Bo Ai School, a village school environment. We have promoted 2 department directors to be vice principals. Both will have to attend principal seminars. We are thankful that Principal Xin has come back to be the Interim Principal. Bo Ai has hired 8 new teachers and 5 of last years teachers who passed the government tests left Bo Ai. In March in the coming year, ten of our students and two teacher chaperons have been invited to join the HK Holmglad Elementary School camping trip and visiting museums, institutions and schools. A first time on an airplane will be a life long memory for our students. Each month on a rotating basis, ten students from Grade 7-9 would visit the FaZhong Old Folks Home and give the residents a cheerful time and also do some menial work, like washing their faces, hands, cleaning their rooms, sing songs, do a dance, bring them some small gifts or food. At Thanksgiving time, Bo Ai held a Benefit Bazaar to raise funds to give to the poor and needy. It raised 4,048 yuan and this will be used to buy food and necessities. Bo Ai places great emphasis on moral education. We are happy to report that our moral education bore fruit. Hang Jia and Yen Y Wei, our 2014 Ninth Grade Graduates now attending their university collected recycled paper, recycled books, recyclable materials and made a profit of 7,444 yuan. This they donated to Bo Ai for our operation fund. Bo Ai received a gift of Robotics and on Friday afternoons, you will see our Robotic Encouragement Program students learning the basics of Robotics. Our Hong Kong Bo Ai Foundation has donated a series of 41 Board Games, called Learning Through Games; Through these games, students sharpen their skills in logic, reasoning, eye-hand coordination, math skills, strategy, cooperation, memory etc. We are also thankful the Louise Ho from Hong Kong has continued to teach Phonics to our students. Many teams come every year and we will not enumerate them here. One event stood out. Two Macau University Graduates, Mandy and Fiona, have such a strong friendship bonding with our students that they forfeited their graduation ceremony at their university and instead joined the Mission Team to Bo Ai. Bo Ai held a Special Celebratory Graduation Ceremony for them at Bo Ai School Grounds with our students and staff in attendance and accompanied unabridged with a promenade down the aisle, Caps and Gowns and facsimile Diplomas.$50,000$13,747
