“The fire department holds elections of officers on the first thursday after the first tuesday in april. Nominations and seconds are made prior to the election by any member of the fire department. The second is required before a name can be put on the ballot. If more than one person is nominated for a position, a secret ballot is held. Officers are elected when they receive a majority vote by the members present for the election.”

“This organization has members. Department meetings are held once a month for the total membership. All members have equal voting rights. The chiefs run the meeting and no-one has veto power. The chief asks for three trustees to make recomendations,but any member can also make a recomendation. The total membership that is present at the meeting votes on all items and items are agreed upon when more than one half of the membership present at the meeting votes in favor of it.”
