“In 2020 we began the first steps of our orphanage certification program. The process of certification assesses each partner orphanage in 15 standards of care on our thrive assessment and creates for them an orphanage improvement roadmap to identify the steps to becoming a certified orphanage where children thrive. We then align projects for donors and volunteers to fulfill the needs and next steps on those roadmaps. We piloted the beginning of childs hope plans in 2020 by funding tutors and therapists at someorphanages. When fully developed, these professionals will keep written goals and progress reports in software to ensure each individual child at each partner orphanage receives the mental health therapy, education, and mentorship to give them the best chance for success as adults.”
“Volunteer programs - the covid-19 pandemic of 2020 forced us to cancel more than half of our service trips. However, in the second half of the year we took 414 volunteers on 12 trips to four of our partner orphanages in mexico. The funds raised for these trips were primarily used to purchase building materials and tools for our volunteers to repair and remodel the orphanages. Additionally, we delivered groceries, toys, clothing, educational and medical supplies. The focus of these trips is to build relationships with the orphanage caregivers and children, so we spent a lot of time eating and playing together. In february 2020, we also sent a committee to haiti to continue our relationship with csedi orphanage. We also piloted long-term volunteer programs, hosting seven volunteers to run a summer camp program and four volunteers living at orphanages at other times in the year. The revenue and expenses associated with our long-term volunteer programs were 4,420 and 2,097 respectively.”

We received grants and donations toward building the school and installing a well on the premise that would provide drinking water to the children and the surrounding community.”

HOWEVER, IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR WE TOOK 414 VOLUNTEERS ON 12 TRIPS TO FOUR OF OUR PARTNER ORPHANAGES IN MEXICO. THE FUNDS RAISED FOR THESE TRIPS WERE PRIMARILY USED TO PURCHASE BUILDING MATERIALS AND TOOLS FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS TO REPAIR AND REMODEL THE ORPHANAGES. ADDITIONALLY, WE DELIVERED GROCERIES, TOYS, CLOTHING, EDUCATIONAL AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES. THE FOCUS OF THESE TRIPS IS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE ORPHANAGE CAREGIVERS AND CHILDREN, SO WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME EATING AND PLAYING TOGETHER. IN FEBRUARY 2020, WE ALSO SENT A COMMITTEE TO HAITI TO CONTINUE OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CSEDI ORPHANAGE. WE ALSO PILOTED LONG-TERM VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS, HOSTING SEVEN VOLUNTEERS TO RUN A SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM AND FOUR VOLUNTEERS LIVING AT ORPHANAGES AT OTHER TIMES IN THE YEAR. THE REVENUE AND EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH OUR LONG-TERM VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS WERE 4,420 AND 2,097 RESPECTIVELY. |

WE RECEIVED GRANTS AND DONATIONS TOWARD BUILDING THE SCHOOL AND INSTALLING A WELL ON THE PREMISE THAT WOULD PROVIDE DRINKING WATER TO THE CHILDREN AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY. |
