Organizational document changes Part VI line 4

The bylaws were amended to reflect the following changes:The board of directors has power to amend the purposes of the organization only with the consent of three-fourths of the directors. The details and format of meetings of the board of directors were removed from the bylaws.Directors shall now hold at least three regular meetings each year.Notice of meetings may now be made by e-mail, in addition to postal mail. The maximum number of directors was increased from nine to fifteen.Directors may hold meetings by telephone.Actions of the directors or any committee thereof may be taken outside board meetings if consent is given by e-mail.The types of officers now includes Executive Director, who is the chief administrative officer of the organization Board may appoint an unpaid Advisory Committee, which reports to the President. Any appointed person may be a member of the Advisory Committee. An article describing indemnification of Directors, Officers, etc. was added to the bylaws. Checks are no longer required to be signed by two officers. Language was added to explain that the Corporation may receive designated contributions, and will generally honor those designations. However, the Corporation reserves all control as well as full discretion to use such funds to carry out the Corporations tax-exempt purposes. Language was added to explain how the directors will handle conflicts of interest. Officers are not automatically directors and do not vote with the board of directors. However a person may hold both positions.

Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11

The President and Members of the Board are provided with regular financial documents which indicate the actual bank account balances, deposits made and expenditures incurred. Each member of the Board has also been provided with a copy of the Final DRAFT 990 for review, and/or comment, before it was officially filed.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

The conflict of interest policy is reviewed regularly with the board. It is monitored with each new transaction that takes place to ensure compliance.

IRS990/Desc0A Childs Hope Foundation continued focusing its volunteer efforts in Mexico in 2015. We increased the number of our Mexico work project trips in 2015 to eleven, taking a total of 541 volunteers to three orphanages in Baja California, Mexico and one orphanage in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. We delivered groceries, toys, clothing, educational and medical supplies. We purchased building materials for our volunteers to build retaining walls, sidewalks, beds, and to remodel dormitories at the orphanages. At Casa de Paz Orphanage, one work project focused on installing an irrigation system to help the orphanage sustain its operations through agriculture. Working with Baja Family Outreach, our volunteers served breakfast to children living in the old city dump in Tijuana, Mexico. We also spent a significant amount of time caring for infants and playing with the other children in the orphanages to deepen our friendships with these children and their caregivers.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0ACHF gave monetary donations and grants to the three Baja orphanages and one Guaymas orphanage we work with. The orphanages use the majority of these funds to pay utilities and other bills, purchase groceries, and buy the uniforms that are required of all Mexican children to attend school.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0A new initiative in 2015 was to assist one of our volunteers families in creating a separate board to help Buena Vida Orphanage set up its new campus and retain their property rights. Kent White joined this family in Baja, Mexico for a few days in September to translate between the directors at Buena Vida Orphanage and the American volunteers, and to introduce everyone to Mexican attorneys who will continue to guide this process. This trip also involved planning agricultural projects at Casa de Paz, which initiative should benefit many orphanages in the surrounding area by providing them with fresh produce. We were able to make good progress on expanding the network of support to those orphanages we work with.

IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0ACHF monitors the use of grant funds through several visits per year to the orphanage in Mexico that benefits from the funds. We ensure that funds are used to purchase building supplies and food, often by making those purchases ourselves or in the company of the orphanage directors. We also see firsthand the results of funds being used to purchase supplies for the children or to pay utility bills.
