Mission

We believe that local, prosperous, and diverse farms are essential to the economic health and environmental quality of the region, that an informed and engaged community is essential to the long_term sustainability of our local farms and that all members of the community should have access to locally grown food and farm products. Our mission is to strengthen farms and engage the community to build the local food economy. Our programs are focused on bringing to fruition our mission and vision.

The 990 form is forwarded to the finance committee for review. Questions and comments are sent to the executive director who deals with these questions as necessary. Upon a satisfactory review from the finance committee the final form 990 is presented to the board for approval and signatures.

The executive director and the executive committee review the conflict of interest forms by all board and staff members annually and tracks status changes to identify possible conflicts that may arise.

Compensation was determined at hire with an offer letter agreed to by the executive director. Raises are determined by the board after an annual review. Cisa performs semi-annual comparison studies to ensure our compensation is in-line with similar organizations. IN ORDER TO INFORM RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ABOUT THE LOCAL BENEFITS OF LOCAL FARMS AND FARMING. OVER 8,836 PEOPLE RECEIVE MONTHLY EMAIL INFORMATION FROM CISA OR FACEBOOK UPDATES AND CISA REACHES AT LEAST AN ADDITIONAL 2,000 PEOPLE THROUGH ATTENDANCE AT CISA EVENTS, COMMUNITY FESTIVALS, FAIRS, FARMERS' MARKETS, AND OTHER EVENTS. CISA'S WEBSITE RECORDED 45,382 USERS AND 573,820 PAGEVIEWS IN 2015. THE SUCCESS OF THE LOCAL HERO PROGRAM IS INDICATED BY THE HIGH LEVEL OF AWARENESS OF THE PROGRAM AMONG LOCAL RESIDENTS. 78% OF RESIDENTS IN HAMPSHIRE AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES AND 51% IN HAMPDEN COUNTY RECOGNIZE THE PROGRAM.
