“The organization is a nonprofit membership corporation incorporated under the laws of the state of hawaii, with the following categories of membership: architect members are individuals admitted to membership with full voting status and privileges. Architect members may also hold the titles fellow and/or emeritus. Voting associate members are individuals admitted with limited voting status and privileges. Associate members may also hold the title emeritus. Honorary fellows, honorary members and allied members are three categories of non-voting membership.”

F) holiday cheer event - the organization hosted a december holiday networking event for members with over 65 attending this gathering. The event celebrated a successful year of participation and recognized the work of sponsors and volunteers throughout the year.”

G) architecture month activities - held annually in april, the organization hosts a variety of free and public activities to highlight the power of good design in making our communities better places to live, work, and play. In 2014, events included walking tours (also offered throughout year), film night, and open houses of architecture firms. Local media assisted in event. Outreach efforts: h) public forums on topics related to the built environment - aia honolulu, through their center for architecture, offers public interest programs and communications to the public regarding the built environment. Topics relate to design and planning issues of current interest to the local community. In 2014, a town hall was held on to discuss urban vision for a new and developing honolulu neighborhood (kaakako). A follow-up panel + program explored the pedestrian experience. D) OTHER MEMBER/INDUSTRY CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS - ACT AS EVENT SPONSOR AND COORDINATOR FOR OTHER LOCALLY HELD ARCHITECTURE/DESIGN SEMINARS AS TOPICS ARISE DURING THE YEAR. 2014 PROGRAMS WERE PRIMARILY LUNCH AND MORNING-HOUR PROGRAMS ON VARIED TOPICS TO PROVIDE NEEDED CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR AIA MEMBERSHIP AND TO MEET STATE LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS. E) ARCHITECTURE LICENSING PREPARATION COURSES - OFFER PROGRAMS TO INTERN ARCHITECTS IN PREPARATION FOR CANDIDATES TO COMPLETE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS AND EXAMINATIONS TO BECOME A LICENSED ARCHITECT IN HAWAII. PROGRAMS ARE INTENDED TO REINFORCE THE VALUE OF LICENSURE WITHIN ARCHITECTURE FIRMS AND THE ROLE OF MENTORSHIP TO SUSTAIN THE PROFESSION. F) HOLIDAY CHEER EVENT - THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED A DECEMBER HOLIDAY NETWORKING EVENT FOR MEMBERS WITH OVER 65 ATTENDING THIS GATHERING.
