“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Law Enforcement Outreach (LEO) works with hundreds of current and former law enforcement officers who question the death penalty system. LEO members take part in legislative hearings and meet with other law enforcement professionals. We help bring real-world experience to the discussion around public safety and the death penalty. As of 2013, 132 law enforcement officials signed our letter saying that they are not in favor of California's broken death penalty system. We also recruited the former head of the execution team at San Quentin State Prison to reach out to new members of the law enforcement community. Our LEO members also took a stand against proposed legislation that would have brought back the gas chamber and eliminated essential appeals. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: International Outreach and Communication Program (IOCP) facilitates cooperation among anti-death penalty advocates to ensure that our European and other international partners have a clear understanding of what interventions will be the most effective and timely for US activists. IOCP works to identify and marshal international voices, including high profile opinion leaders, in support of US activism, while encouraging and informing diplomatic conversations between the US and EU. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: With more than 80,000 supporters, Death Penalty Focus (DPF) is one of the worlds largest organizations dedicated solely to ending capital punishment. For more than 25 years we have worked to raise public awareness, build coalitions, and educate policy makers about the death penalty and its alternatives. Because the end of capital punishment around the world depends on leadership by the United States, and because ending capital punishment in the US depends on leadership by California, 2013 was a year to continue engaging core constituencies and spreading our message to more and more households around the state. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Savings, Accountability Full Enforcement (SAFE)is a California Campaign (Prop 34, Nov 2012 election) that began as an ad hoc coalition of organizations who shared the goal of replacing the death penalty. This statewide coalition was maintained and run as a joint project of Death Penalty Focus and the ACLU of Northern California (ACLU-NC). OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Unrepresented Death Row Prisoner Project's (UDRPP) purpose is to provide indigent prisoners on Californias death row with access to items such as postage stamps, paper, and toiletries during this long period of waiting.”
