Activity 2

Housing development - as an important part of its mission, the organization has constructed or acquired 608 units of affordable housing since its formation in 1988, and continues to develop or acquire new affordable housing units each year. The 608 units are divided between 16 housing complexes. The three components of the housing department are:1. Property management - property and asset management were provided for all of the 608 permanent, affordable housing units through several property management companies. More than 608 households, consisting of over 2,000 individuals, were provided housing each night during the year ended june 30, 2013.2. Resident services - on-site resident services were provided to the tenants in the 608 apartment units to assist these residents to meet their basic housing needs and to build better lives. Resident services for the children living in these units were prominent.3. Construction management -- assistance in the development of new housing projects and in the rehabilitation of existing housing complexes was provided.

Activity 3

Employment services - during the year ended june 30, 2013, the organization provided employment and training services to 400 people. Partnerships with the city of gresham, the city of portland/portland development commission, worksystems, inc., and oregon department of human services/immigrant and refugee community organization ("irco") made these services possible. The organization provided an employment program, called peer support, to assist recent immigrants from eastern europe transition to living-wage employment in the united states. A second employment program, living solutions, focused on participants who have very limited employment skills and lack the training and skills needed to find living wage jobs. One of the other employment programs was designed to assist people to leave temporary assistance to needy families ("tanf") by obtaining jobs with wages sufficient to support their families.
