Activity 2

General program work:oregon environmental council's general program work is the cross cutting, overarching work we do to protect oregon's environment. This includes such activities as conducting general environmental education and outreach; building partnerships with allied organizations and participating in environmental coalitions; serving on advisory committees focused on broad environmental goals, such as the oregon environmental justice task force; and promoting measures that broadly protect the environment, such as sufficient budgets for state natural resource agencies.

Activity 3

Climate protection:the council promotes solutions to climate change including climate-friendly transportation, clean energy and energy efficiency. The council led the way for oregon to adopt a low carbon fuel standard, which will be a key part of oregon's strategy to meet its statewide greenhouse gas reduction goals. The council has led efforts for western states to lead on clean energy and climate leadership by working jointly with our counterparts in washington and california and encouraging state leadership. The council has also built a "cool oregon" coalition of businesses, organizations, local government leaders, and other influential oregonians to support state and regional public policy efforts to reduce global warming pollution.
