“The form 990 is reviewed by the financial administrator and executive director for accuracy prior to being filed with the irs. A copy of the 990 is provided to the board after it is filed with the irs.”

“The conflict of interest policy is signed when a board member joins the board. If a conflict of interest occurs, as determined by the artistic director and executive director, it is discussed at the board meeting and the board member recuses himself/herself from the meeting and any vote associated with the matter in question.”

“On an annual basis, the board reviews and approves the salaries for the executive director and artistic director. The finance committee evaluates annual staffing salaries, including the financial administrator's salary. The finance committee evaluates compensation using the budget for the year as well as the united way of king county wage and benefit survey. Siff tries to stay within the median range for compensation. The last compensation review occurred december 6, 2017.”

“Volunteers contribute thousands of hours of their time annually in connection with the festival and year round operations. Management estimates that volunteers contributed in excess of 22,000 hours during the year ended december 31, 2017. Siff provides training to these individuals prior to their volunteering. Services that are provided by volunteers range from ushering at siff cinema and the festival, as well as operating our front desk on a daily basis. Other volunteer opportunities include: calendar distribution, special events, load in/out of venues, guest relations drivers, and interpreters and translators.”
