Activity 2

Provides food banks, family development, and emergency financial assistance to assist low income families. Distributes federal dollars to those who need help with energy bills, teaches energy conservation and provides weatherization referrals. Hopelink directly served 7,736 families, providing energy assistance and weatherization. Another 105 families were served by transferring funds to king county housing authority. Hopelink also helped an additional 85 households with rental assistance from liheap funds.

Activity 3

Provides homeless families with either transitional or long term shelter, comprehensive support services, advocacy and referral to needed resources. Case managers assist families in accessing services they need to reach their goals such as parenting, budgeting classes, tenant education as well as adult education and employment classes. Provides adult education, esl reading and writing classes, basic literacy, money management, cooking and computer skills classes. Hopelink's adult education and literacy programs served 796 adults and 50% percent of basic literacy students reached their literacy goals. Hopelink also served 32 adults in money management classes, 40 adults in its "bankers series" classes, 11 adults in financial literacy classes and 182 adults in computer skills classes.
