“The form 990 is reviewed by the cfo prior to signing by the president. Ids also provides the board an opportunity to review the 990 and give feedback. The feedback from the board will be noted in the board meeting minutes.”

If a conflict is identified, they meet with the employee, director or officer to discuss. A conclusion is reached and a plan is determined and implemented. An example is a transplant surgeon who is on the board and is contracted with ids to perform organ recoveries. We would exclude that person from discussions regarding contracted recovery surgeon pay.”

“For determination of the executive director compensation, the board meets and follows irs guidelines for determining executive pay. The board also reviews the annual aopo compensation survey to benchmark with similar organization.”

In 2016, we assisted 14 scouts that will typically canvas their neighborhood giving out information. This has been a great "grass roots" program to help educate the public about the need for donation.”
