“Line 28 (Program Accomplishments): Kore Press fulfilled the publishing and promotion of women/transgender writers aspect of its mission by offering 1 international writing contest (for memoir), engaging 1 judges, 7 manuscript readers, and roughly 400 writers who submitted their work for consideration. Kore published 11 online newsletters with original writing, news and opportunities, 4 new titles (1 poetry, 1 short fiction, 1 memoir, 1 anthology), serving 44 artists. Kore interviewed and recorded 5 visiting authors and engaged 1000 audiences locally with programming (performances/readings, a dinner, a talk, workshop, student engagements. Kore estimates 10,000 readers / year, for both online, broadcast media, and print publications. Meeting the educational component of our mission, Kore mentored three young women of color in the publishing and literary organizing.”
