Activity 2

Production and shredding: Beacon Group performs sub-contract work for many local businesses each year. This work is a training and development vehicle for people with disabilities, and provides workers with a source of sustaining income. During the year, Beacon assembled over 25,000,000 aerospace rivets, and over a million mechanical assemblies for companies such as Alcoa, Precision Shooting Equipment, Schletter, Air Systems Components and Fisher Industries. Clients and staff processed 250,000 bulk mailing pieces and assembled 60,000 medical cables. Over 3,300,000 lbs of paper were shredded in our document destruction business (an average of 7 tons of paper per day) for over 400 shredding business customers and many individual customers. Beacon Group has over 25 community worksites providing assembly, vehicle washing, landscaping, recycling and other services at our customers' facilities.

Activity 3

Custodial contracts: Beacon Group provides custodial services for a variety of customers including AbilityOne projects. We provide these services for approximately 1,000,000 square feet of combined office space. Our custodial services provide training and job opportunities for people with disabilities. AbilityOne projects require a 75% staffing ratio of people with disabilities. Beacon Group's staff ratio for these contracts is close to 85%. We have received top ratings for work at our largest project, the Federal Courthouse in Tucson.
