Vallejo Project is a community of volunteers improving student outcomes by connecting youth to multi-generational enrichment and development pathways in communication, trades and wellness. Mission - To transform Vallejo into a healthy and economically robust community by developing the leadership of youth and young adults and improving the systems that impact them.

Over the course of three years, the Vallejo Project has achieved significant programmatic milestones and growth in serving youth participants. The organization began by serving 100 youth participants and has since grown by an additional 100 youth participants annually. These achievements reflect the dedication and commitment of the Vallejo Project to its mission of breaking the cycle of violence and economic hardship faced by students in the community.Year 1: Serving 100 Youth ParticipantsWellness Program: In the first year, the Vallejo Project initiated its Wellness Program, known as "Safe Spaces." This program created a nurturing and safe environment for students, fostering positive interactions and building their self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-assurance. The organization trained youth interns as peer Community Health Workers and Youth Mental Health First Aid workers, providing support to their peers in need.Arts and Communication: The Arts and Communication program introduced storytelling as a dynamic and engaging way to enhance language learning and allow young learners to share their voices. Bootcamp filmmaking was taught to provide students with a creative outlet and an opportunity to address community issues through storytelling.Trades Program: Vallejo Project initiated its Trades Program with pathways in Cabling and Carpentry. The program aimed to challenge the "school-to-prison pipeline" by providing youth with valuable skills and training for future careers in these trades.Year 2: Growing to 200 Youth ParticipantsWellness Program Expansion: Building on the success of Safe Spaces, the organization expanded its Wellness Program.
