Offcenter Community Arts Project

“Offcenter's mission is to promote positive self-identity and resilience through art making by providing a safe environment for creative social interaction with an emphasis on enhancing the lives of those most marginalized in our community. Offcenter seeks to build community through regular participation in art making and creative dialog among people of socially and economically diverse backgrounds. No matter one's background, every particpant finds acceptance and self discovery through the arts and social dialogue.”

“Part iii line 28a art supplies which were taped to the front windows of the building for safe and contactless pickup. Offcenter shifted gears to support its community during a time when isolation and economic challenges made creative expression even more critical. While the studio was mostly closed offcenter rovided a walk by outdoor art show by setting up exhibits with evolving artists in the studio's windows. Some limited attendance workshops were held as well as limited attendance open studio events. Art boxes were provided to group homes and homeless organizations as well as instituting the art supply commons program in which artists fill out a form to order free supplies. Additionally, virtual programs were implemented including summer kids' craft series and introduction to acting for teens. "conversations with creatives" were posted to you tube.”

“Taxpayer recceived significant in kind contributions that are not of a nature required to be reported on the tax return. The most significant contributions consisted of materials utilized in the program. Donated professional fees are valued at $16,213. Volunteer hours donated to programming are significant. Rent reduction of $4,000 is also contributed.”
