Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Resilient cities catalyst, inc.'s (rcc) mission is catalytic change to help cities solve their most pressing challenges

Resilient cities catalyst is a nonprofit that was founded in 2019 by members of the 100 resilient cities (100rc) leadership team. Building on the pioneering legacy of 100rc, and in partnership with a community of urban resilience actors, rcc is helping cities build the capacities and partnerships needed to understand, prioritize and concretely address their risks and chronic stresses as they pursue their strategic goals or recover from a crisis.2020 has underscored what we've learned from our past resilience work at 100rc: that sudden shocks and chronic stresses can conspire to send communities into a cascading spiral of sustained crisis. Many of the same communities that have been highly vulnerable to covid-19 have also had the highest food and housing stresses, high incidence of police violence, and high exposure to the many manifestations of climate change. This is a time for necessary, fundamental change in the ways that cities plan and act.
