Mission

Our mission is to develop, promote and manage alternative housing options on Lopez Island, Washington, with the specific purpose of addressing the need for low cost and moderate cost affordable housing. It is our goal to create rental housing that is affordable to persons and families working on Lopez Island, Washington.

Housing Lopez is a community based not-for-profit housing development organization dedicated to meeting the housing needs of the Lopez Island community. Our mission is to create rental housing that is affordable to persons and families working on Lopez Island. Our goal is to develop as many as 70 new rental housing units on Lopez Island over the next 15 years to address the severe shortage of affordable rental housing.

Name Change: We are registered with the State of Washington as Housing Lopez, a WA Nonprofit Corporation. We incorrectly used Housing Lopez Inc in our organization's Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws and when completing Form 1023 with the IRS. Our organization name must conform to the legal name filed with the Washington Secretary of State, so we have adopted a resolution to correct the error. Our legal name is Housing Lopez.
