| Educational Programming and Empowered Self-Defense Training: Through our age-specific, developmentally appropriate educational seminars and self-defense training, SASS Go is safeguarding lives and making communities safer. To date, SASS Go has educated and trained over 7500 participants in 18 states and the District of Columbia. SASS Go reaches participants in schools, universities, community centers, places of worship, law enforcement, and businesses. Nearly 60% of these participants have trained for free or at a reduced cost. SASS Go's landmark violence prevention and response education and training includes the Harm Reduction Series, the Recognize Respond Refer Professional Series, comprehensive self defense training, and I Will Survive Women's Retreats. Each training is handcrafted to meet the unique needs of the people gathered as they learn to detect threats to safety, respond to incidents of violence, support survivors, know available resources, and raise awareness for prevention. The Harm Reduction Series: This series is offered in person or virtually and includes our College Essentials course for college women, our 10 Critical Skills to Save Your Life course for women ages 16 and up, the Protecting Your Little Girl course for elementary school parents and guardians, and The Middle School Mind course for parents and guardians of middle school students. Such courses have been taught from Southern California to South Africa, empowering participants with the truth that they are wise, strong, capable, intuitive, and worth fighting for every time. Whether the threat is one from a current relationship or a stranger, participants learn to assess and reduce risk, while discovering the most common predator tactics used on women and girls, counter-strategies, areas of weakness, tools that help them escape danger, and resources to support them and those they care for, from assault, abuse, and trafficking. Critical care providers such as law enforcement, medical personnel, and legal professionals who complete training gain trauma-informed insight, while acquiring the skills that help survivors preserve options for pursuing justice. The series also explores local, national, and global support networks that provide for survivors' emotional, financial, and physical needs. These trainings are helping providers facilitate positive and effective interactions with survivors within their field of expertise, lessening retraumatization and promoting successful long-term health outcomes. | IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | Liabilities at the beginning of 2020: These are gross amounts due in salaries earned during 2019. In April 2019, the SASS Go Board of Directors approved salaries for three employees (Shannon Henry, Lisa Ewart, and Brett Brown). The gross amount of salaries due for April - December 2019 is $157,500. While these amounts are owed and the individuals have continued to work full time, the employees have not been paid these amounts. The individuals will be paid at such time as the organization has the necessary funds. The additional $12,049 is the employer's FICA contributions for the gross amount of salaries due. These amounts (plus the employee's FICA contribution and any applicable withholding amounts) will be paid to the IRS at such time as the net salaries owed are paid to the employees. Liabilities at the end of 2020: During fiscal year 2020, three employees (Shannon Henry, Brett Brown, and Lisa Ewart) continued to work full time and their salaries, as approved by the Board, accrued. SASS Go was able to pay a portion of those salaries every month. During 2020, an additional $144,000.04 accrued in gross income earned, but these amounts were not paid to the employees. In addition, $11,016.00 in employer FICA has accrued on these unpaid amounts. |
