| IRS990ScheduleA/FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt | 0 | The organization's public support percentage for the five-year period ending 12/31/2022 is 17.89%. This represents a slightly increased percentage over that of the five-year period ending 12/31/2021 and is more than the 10% minimum amount of public support required in Regulation 1.170A-9(f)(3)(i). In the past 24 months, the organization has undertaken a number of new initiatives to attract public support from a variety of public sources. These include: producing and posting to our website a series of videos, designed to engage the public, in which panels of experts discuss the problems and issues with American healthcare and what can be done to improve the decision-making that so directly affects our health care, our financing and our well-being; hosting a series of live webinars inviting members of the general public to engage in conversations centered around these aforementioned videos and the issues and opportunities identified therein; forming new committees of the Board to focus specifically on certain areas we believe may be of particular interest to important subsets of the general public, including a Rural Committee focused on promoting further insight into the implications of health policy on rural constituencies and stakeholders, a Mindset Committee considering the changes that could result from bottom-up shifts in the mindset regarding healthcare, health insurance and subsidies and a Social Insurance and Public Financing Committee seeking to provide further illumination and understanding of the facts affecting the nation's social insurance and public finance programs. Every one of these aforementioned initiatives is specifically intended to be of interest to and deepen our engagement with certain subsets of the general public with the intent of translating the increased engagement and interest into additional contributors to our various initiatives. Additionally, our website was completely redesigned and relaunched in 2022 with the intent of making it more accessible and interesting to the general public, further encouraging additional engagement and ultimately additional contributions. As we gain experience and have success with these new initiatives, we expect the organization will continue to build a broad range of funding sources, increasing its percentage of public support. We do not anticipate that public support will fall below current levels. We have added new donors to the organization in each of the last three years, and our objective is to continue to identify additional donors in the future. The Board of Directors is comprised of active and retired professionals with deep knowledge about, and a personal interest in, providing both the public as well as policymakers with easily understood analysis of the issues affecting the sustainability of our nation's public finances and social insurance programs. The Board consists of three retired actuaries, an actuary pursuing her PHD in health policy and management, an actively employed actuary with particular experience and expertise in the area of pharmacy benefits and an MD whose recent professional focus has been in the area of rural health care policy. The Board relies on this depth and breadth of experience to inform the analysis of issues of particular importance and interest to the public and the policymakers that represent them. Our objective is to continue to broaden the collective breadth of experience and expertise of the Board by adding, as we are able to do so, professionals with experience in pensions, public pensions, accounting, economics and medicine. The organization is not a membership organization and does not collect dues. |
