The operations manager's compensation is determined by the organization's board of directors, independent from the operations manager. The operations manager is not allowed to vote on this issue. The level of compensation was determined with reference to compensation paid to similar contractors for similar services provided, salary surveys, and similar comparability data. The deliberation and determination of the operation manager's compensation is contemporaneously documented in board minutes and the approved budget.

FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The mission of healthcare data and analytics association is to facilitate greater use of analytical information systems that help lower healthcare costs, improve the quality of health care and improve patient satisfaction and safety. Healthcare data and analytics also strives to advance the state of healthcare data warehousing and analytics.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

Other program activities hdaa services remained strong, although fully virtual during 2020. The organization held 20 special interest group sessions (with a total of 1,256 participants) and 21 town halls (with a total of 3,350 participants). The number of special interest group offerings was reduced by 20%, strictly due to the demands of covid-19 staffing and focused planning in each member institution. Included in the sig domain were women in analytics, cerner, epic, data engineering and data governance and, while reduced in number, the content and participation remained and the sharing of analytic efforts to help organizations respond to the impact of covid- 19 on their operations. The major amount of this reduction was replaced by the introduction of the town hall series with presentations and discussions related to analytic challenges during the pandemic. Each of these sessions averaged attendance of 160 members. There was a slight increase in non- conference volunteer services in support of our web site development. Additionally the communication and on-line access to presentations helped membership growth to increase by 10% over 2019. During 2020, the organization's total number of individual members was 4,473 and total number of organizational members was 1,019.

THE NUMBER OF SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP OFFERINGS WAS REDUCED BY 20%, STRICTLY DUE TO THE DEMANDS OF COVID-19 STAFFING AND FOCUSED PLANNING IN EACH MEMBER INSTITUTION. INCLUDED IN THE SIG DOMAIN WERE WOMEN IN ANALYTICS, CERNER, EPIC, DATA ENGINEERING AND DATA GOVERNANCE AND, WHILE REDUCED IN NUMBER, THE CONTENT AND PARTICIPATION REMAINED AND THE SHARING OF ANALYTIC EFFORTS TO HELP ORGANIZATIONS RESPOND TO THE IMPACT OF COVID- 19 ON THEIR OPERATIONS. THE MAJOR AMOUNT OF THIS REDUCTION WAS REPLACED BY THE INTRODUCTION OF THE TOWN HALL SERIES WITH PRESENTATIONS AND DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO ANALYTIC CHALLENGES DURING THE PANDEMIC. EACH OF THESE SESSIONS AVERAGED ATTENDANCE OF 160 MEMBERS. THERE WAS A SLIGHT INCREASE IN NON- CONFERENCE VOLUNTEER SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF OUR WEB SITE DEVELOPMENT. ADDITIONALLY THE COMMUNICATION AND ON-LINE ACCESS TO PRESENTATIONS HELPED MEMBERSHIP GROWTH TO INCREASE BY 10% OVER 2019. DURING 2020, THE ORGANIZATION'S TOTAL NUMBER OF INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS WAS 4,473 AND TOTAL NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERS WAS 1,019.
