Mission

To promote the social, physical, and mental health of residents of the greater vail area via community outreach programs that support th distribution of food and clothing, and programs that support the social, physical and mental health of the residents within the community.

With the help of volunteers and community partners, we improve lives by feeding greater vail's hungry and assisting with basic needs.

The return is reviewed by the treasurer and a copy of the return is sent to each board member prior to the return being filed for their reveiw.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

Every new board member is given a copy of the Conflict of Interest Policy and is asked to sign a disclosure statement stating they have read the policy and they understand the literal expression of the policy and its' intent. They are also stating that they don't have any conflict of interest that may be seen as competing with the interests or concerns of the organization and nor does any member of their immediate family or any party, group or organization to which their immediate family has an allegiance have a competing interest or concern.If any situation arises in the future that the board member thinks may involve a conflict of interest, before any discussion or action is taken on the matter they will disclose the circumstances to the President of the board of directors.The Conflict of Interest policy is given to each board member annually to review and sign the disclosure statement.

The general manager conducts the interview along with one or two board members for the food bank and thrift store mangers. The general manager is reviewed by the president and vice-president. Reviews are given annually and focus hr, a human resources company, is utilized for guidelines/ranges for wages commensurate with the job description. The hiring committee then reviews and approves the wages to be offered. Final approval is made by the predisdent and/or treasurer of the organization.

OUR FOOD BANK SERVES OVER 200 HOUSEHOLDS EACH MONTH WITH SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD AND SENIOR MEALS THROUGHTOUT THE GREATER VAIL COMMUNITY. IN 2020 4,885 FAMILIES AND 20,548 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED. THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM DISTRIBUTED 5,565 LARGE BROWN BAGS OF FOOD. 18,631 POUNDS OF FOOD WERE RECEIVED FROM PRIVATE SECTOR DONATIONS AND 165,750 POUNDS OF FOOD WAS RECEIVED FROM GROCERY STORES IN THE VAIL COMMUNITY. SENIOR MEALS: ReSOURCES SENIOR MEAL PROGRAM BENEFITS HOMEBOUND, PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED OR CONVALESCENT INDIVIDUALS PROVIDING BALANCED SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION THAT IS NOT CARB OR SODIUM HEAVY. VOLUNTEERS DELIVER FIVE (5) FROZEN, HEAT AND EAT MEALS EACH WEEK TO THE HOMEBOUND. OUR SERVICE AREA IS CORONA DE TUCSON, RITA RANCH, CIVANO, AND ALL NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE VAIL SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE BONUS FOR THOSE WHO DON'T GET OUT IS SEEING A FIRENDLY FACE AT THE DOOR AND HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A CARING INTERACTION.BACKPACK PROGRAM: ReSOURCES VOLUNTEERS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SCHOOLS TRANSITION FROM SCHOOL TO WORK (TSW) GROUP FILL AND DELIVER PACKAGES OF FOOD TO SCHOOLS IN THE VAIL SCHOOL DISTRICT EACH WEEK WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE AN AVERAGE OF 1,600 CALORIES AND 62 GRAMS OF PROTEIN TO STUDENTS THAT MAY FALL SHORT ON THE WEEKENDS. STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR THE FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH PROGRAM AND ARE REFERRED TO ReSOURCES BY THE STUDENT SERVICE COORDINATOR (SSC) AT EACH SCHOOL. MORE THAN 100 STUDENTS ARE SERVED BY THIS PROGRAM.
