Pretty brainy is organized and operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Pretty brainy's purpose is to give girls and young women real-world experiences in science, technology, engineering, art + design, and math (steam) through which they may give back to their communities and connect with professionals who inspire. Through these experiences, as well as programs through which girls gain resilience, we empower them to realize a fuller scope of their talents, interests, and opportunities for contributing to their world.

“For 2018, pretty brainy's top three program service accomplishments are tightly tied. These accomplishments are: no.1: deliver service learning and mentoring to girls ages 10 to 18 in science, technology, engineering, art + design, and math(steam). No.2: plan, create and deliver the first all-girl innovation marathon for climate action. No.3: give girls and young women senior leadership roles in innovating and creating technologies for the climate. Total direct program expenses for program services under these accomplishments, 211,044 or 99.3% of total organization expenses, including donated goods and services, were invested in programing. Donated goods & services income: donated professional services, gaap 179,989 donated professional services, gaap 4,400 donated use of facilities 5,150 gifts in kind-goods 8,155 total donated goods & services income 197,694 we are measuring accomplishment according to the following numbers: a. Number of girls and young women who gained skills in steam while also gaining professional skills in communications, project management, collaboration, and service to community: 40 b. Number of steam mentors: 30 c. Total number of community members and stakeholders to date impacted by our program to engage girls in steam for climate action: 510 d. Estimate of the number of girls and young women who gained steam empowerment through pretty brainy online: 14,550. This is a reasonalbe estimate based on analytics and numbers gathered from our website and platforms where our organization has an online presence. Pretty brainy awarded grants to high school girls and undergraduate women totaling 4,732.00. Support was awarded to girls and young women who served as program interns and members of our student leadership team. Our short term goals are for girls to: 1. Know the value of taking risks and failing forward. 2. Replace perfectionism with prototyping and experimentation. 3. Use steam to enrich their community. Our long-term goals are as follows: 1. Girls and young women who experience pretty brainy are confident in their abilities in steam. 2. Girls' interest in steam has been maintained or increased. 3. Girls' peer circles are influenced: math and science are socially acceptable among k-12 girls. 4. Community is influenced in this way: we contribute to changing the face of who steam students and professionals are. 5.
