“The organization is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and section 23701(d) of the revenue and taxation code of the state of california. Accordingly, no provisions for income taxes or related credits are included in these financial statements.effective december 31, 2009, the organization adopted financial accounting standards board ("fasb") accounting standards codification ("asc") topic no. 740, "uncertainty in income taxes" ("asc 740") (formerly fasb intrepretation no. 48 ("fin 48"), "accounting for uncertainty in income taxes - an interpretation of fasb statement"). Asc 740 clarifies the uncertainty in income taxes recognized in the enterprises' financial statements. The organization has determined that the adoption of asc 740 did not result in the recognition of any liability for uncertain tax positions.”
