Financial Statement Notes

PART III, LINE 1A:

Confluence does not recognize and capitalize its collections. The following are the sites as of the end of the fiscal year: * cape disappointment state park - at this site, artist maya lin collaborated with columbia river tribes to design a series of artworks that connect visitors with the indigenous history of this place: a basalt fish cleaning table, overlook of baker bay, boardwalk retracing the steps of lewis and clark, and a blessing path that leads to a cedar circle. * fort vancouver national site - land bridge offers a curving walkway over a railroad and highway, to reconnect fort vancouver with the riverfront. Scenic overlooks, expanses of native prairie, and artworks shape the path on the bridge. The bridge structure is owned by washington state and is maintained by the city of vancouver and the state of washington. * sandy river delta - a pathway leads through a newly restored landscape to an elliptical bird blind. Names of birds and animals recorded by the corps of discovery are carved into the structure's locust-wood slats. * sacajawea state park - seven "story circles" envisioned by artist maya lin are large rings of basalt rock, some raised and others set into the ground. Themes from native culture emerge through text and images of native plants, fish and animals sandblasted into the rock circles. * chief timothy state park - on an island in the snake river, artist maya lin has designed a large stone-rimmed earthwork, sculpted from a natural amphitheater. A nez perce blessing ceremony, performed here in 2005, inspired its shape. Critical to preserving and maintaining each site is observing conditions and problem solving, as follows: * create a manual with maintenance and preservation protocols for each location * provide this manual to all team members and provide stewardship training * regularly monitor the site per the suggested schedule * keep an observation log to document site conditions * photograph the site twice annually. Keep photos with the observation log. * respond promptly to mitigate conditions as they arise during the current fiscal year no items were given away, damaged, destroyed, lost, or otherwise decreased during this period.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0CONFLUENCE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE AND CAPITALIZE ITS COLLECTIONS.
