Mission

To provide education, implement and fund projects in accordance with National and California Fire Plans, mobilize citizens and agencies to reduce losses from wildfires, exchange information and foster fire prevention and fire safety within the County of Monterey.

Major Activities

Activity 2
The us bureau of land management provided a grant to establish a fire safe demonstration garden which would educate local homeowners about plants and vegetation that would resist fire in the hilly terrain area of rancho tierra grande in mid carmel valley. Grant carryover from 2010 18,255 grant received in 2011 12,033 30,288 spent for grant purposes -30,240 unspent grant money at 12/31/11 48
Activity 3
This us forest service grant was provided for workshops and training sessions to establish community wildfire protection plans and community response teams for fire emergencies. Grant carryover from 15,644 grant received in 2011 9,440 25,084 allocated to administration -1,229 spent for grant purposes -9,903 unspent grant money at 12/31/11 13,952
