“Ncsl foundation amended its by-laws during the year: board composition will consist of 57 members: 7 officers of the national conference of state legislatures (ncsl) 15 currently serving legislators 7 currently serving legislative staff 28 non-ncsl members known as "supporting directors" the term in office: officers of ncsl will serve for their term in office or up to 7 years other directors not serving as officers will serve 1 year terms and may not serve more than 3 consecutive terms. Qualifications: all non-supporting directors must be members in good standing of the ncsl supporting directors must be full-time employees of an organiztion which has contributed to the foundation”

“A copy of the form 990 was reviewed in its entirety by the chief executive officer and chief financial officer prior to the form's filing.”

“The board is asked once per year at the annual conference to sign a statement and requested to report if there is any change in their status during the year.”

“Beginning in fiscal year 2022, 10% of the chief executive officer's compensation is allocated as being paid by ncsl foundation for state legislatures. The board of directors review and approve of the chief executive officer's compensation annually.”

“Governing documents, conflict of interest policy and audited financial statements are available to the general public upon request.”

“The objectives and purposes of the foundation are to: engage in research, technical assistance, and educational activity for the benefit of state legislatures and the general public; provide services to members and staff of the state legislatures as may be appropriate and consistent with the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code; receive, invest and administer property of any kind; and to obtain and distribute the income and principal of these purposes and objectives.”
