During the year texas pharmacy association amended its bylaws to: - include virtual membership, which will allow texas pharmacist or pharmacy technician who would otherwise be eligible for membership to become a virtual member. A virtual member is not eligible to vote or hold office; - increase vice president's term of office from one year to two years; - clarify that the board establishes time and location for annual meeting; - change quorum of house deligates from fifty percent plus one to 50 delegates; - change votes needed to amend bylaws from two-thirds vote of the house of delegates to fifty percent plus one votes of the general membership.

The association is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c) (6) of the internal revenue code, except for any unrelated business activities. Unrelated business income consists primarily of advertising revenues from publications and group purchasing and affinity program revenues. Management believes the association has no uncertain tax positions as of december 31, 2016. The associations federal forms 990, return of organization exempt from income tax and forms 990-t, exempt organization business income tax returns, are subject to routine examination by the irs, generally for three years after they are filed. There are no examinations currently in progress.
