Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Explanation: the association is subject to federal income tax on unrelated business activities. Unrelated business income consists primarily of advertising revenues from publications and group purchasing and affinity program revenues. Management believes the association has no uncertain tax positions as of december 31, 2015. The associations federal forms 990, return of organization exempt from income tax and forms 990-t, exempt organization business income tax returns, are subject to examination by the irs, generally for three years after they are filed. Federal income tax expense is $64,065 for 2015, and is included in organizational affairs expense in the accompanying statement of activities. Federal incomes taxes receivable of $14,261 are refundable or may be carried forward to the 2016 tax year.
