| IRS990/Desc | 0 | Meetings & Education: The Endocrine Society (ES) provides educational programs for researchers and clinical medical professionals to increase the understanding of biomedical research into endocrine disorders and the treatment of patients with endocrine-related medical conditions. ES is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and its Continuing Medical Education programs are planned and conducted in strict compliance with ACCME standards and requirements. Each year ES holds a four-day educational meeting (ENDO) focused on the field of endocrinology. Each attendee may earn up to 32.5 continuing medical education (CME) credits for the core educational program. ES also holds an annual Clinical Endocrinology Update (CEU) event where professionals may earn up to 26 CME credits, depending on the education options chosen. The Society provides many other opportunities for professional education and credit in various formats during the year including but not limited to: in-person speaker events, educational books, online courses, study guides, monographs, and webcasts. The Society also collaborates with other medical and scientific professional societies and often co-sponsors educational events when the topics are of interest to Society membership and are consistent with the Society's mission. In order to support and encourage participation by early-career professionals, the Society often provides travel grants and awards to trainees. |
