Mission
To facilitate registration and voting among historically underrepresented populations through nonpartisan programs, to enforce state and federal voting rights laws, and to conduct research on, disseminate, and advocate for election policy best practices.
Major Activities

- Election administration: project vote's election administration program works through research, litigation, and advocacy to ensure that voter registration is accessible, effective, and enduring. In 2011 project vote produced a number of general-use publications on election administration issues, and produced timely and groundbreaking research related to voting rights issues, including an analysis of first-time voters in the 2008 electorate. The litigation department managed several lawsuits, including a lawsuit to ensure the state of virginia is complying with federal public disclosure requirements related to voter registration files, and suits in several states related to overly restrictive voter registration laws.
- Activity 3
- Project vote's voter registration program aims to increase registration and voting among historically underrepresented, voting-eligible american citizens. In 2011, project vote developed an array of training materials, program manuals, and technical assistance tools to assist organizations in this work. Project vote also conducted a research study on the effectiveness of site-based voter registration programs.
