Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The president and ceo, along with designated senior staff, review the form 990 before it is signed and filed. Any questions related to its contents are resolved before filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

All possible conflicts of interest of directors, officers and key employees are brought to the attention of the ceo to explore and report to the board if the conflict merits further investigation or action.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Compensation process for top officials: the board sets the president and ceo's compensation and is guided by periodic sector-wide compensation studies which reflect industry norms and standards. Compensation process for officers or key employees: the board's compensation committee makes recommendations regarding compensation levels for board members and officers in consultation with the president and ceo. Those recommendations are then reviewed, amended as needed, and then adopted by the board. Compensation for key employees is set by the president and ceo in keeping with industry standards for the sector in general and think tanks in particular. The process was last undertaken in august 2017.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Frameworks institute makes governing documents, conflict of interest policy and financial statements available to the public upon request.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0CHILDREN AND FAMILIES - THE INSTITUTE HELPS NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THAT SERVE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO DISCOVER AND DOCUMENT THE EFFECTS OF FRAMES ON PUBLIC VIEWS AND ATTITUDES, AS WELL AS TRANSLATE THE VIEWS OF EXPERTS TO THEIR RESPECTIVE PUBLICS. THE AIM OF THIS WORK IS TWO-FOLD: TO DEEPEN PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF COMPLEX SOCIAL PROBLEMS AND TO HELP INDIVIDUALS BETTER EVALUATE POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS TO THE TOUGH CHALLENGES THAT CONFRONT MANY CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. ISSUES ADDRESSED RANGED FROM EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT TO CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION, CHILD NUTRITION AND ORAL HEALTH, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, FOSTER CARE, AND EDUCATIONAL REFORM.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/ExpenseAmt0735214
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0AGING - EIGHT OF THE NATION'S LEADING AGING-FOCUSED ORGANIZATIONS HAVE FORMED AN UNPRECEDENTED PARTNERSHIP TO CREATE A BETTER PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF OLDER ADULTS' NEEDS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIETY AND SUBSEQUENTLY TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF ALL PEOPLE AS THEY AGE. THIS COALITION INCLUDES AARP, THE AMERICAN FEDERATION FOR AGING RESEARCH, THE AMERICAN GERIATRICS SOCIETY, THE AMERICAN SOCIETY ON AGING, THE GERONTOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA, GRANTMAKERS IN AGING, THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON AGING, AND THE NATIONAL HISPANIC COUNCIL ON AGING. TOGETHER THEY REPRESENT, AND HAVE DIRECT ACCESS TO, MILLIONS OF OLDER ADULTS AND THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS WORKING IN AGING-RELATED PROFESSIONS. WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH THE INSTITUTE, THE EIGHT ORGANIZATIONS ADDRESS PUBLIC PERCEPTIONS OF OLDER ADULTS: WHO THEY ARE, WHAT ISSUES AFFECT THEM, HOW THEY CONTRIBUTE TO OUR SOCIETY, AND HOW SOCIETY CAN BEST INTEGRATE THEIR NEEDS AND CONTRIBUTIONS.
