Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

“Under professional guidance, an organization must recognize the tax benefit associated with tax taken for tax return purposes when it is more likely than not the position will be sustained. The bureau does not believe there are any material uncertain tax positions and, accordingly, it will not recognize any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. For the years ended december 31, 2020 and 2019, there were no interest or penalties recorded or included in its financial statements. The bureau has unrelated business income under section 511 of the internal revenue code. This income arises from online security assurance services. Tax returns for the years of 2017 and beyond remain subject to examination.”
