Lakeshore estates is a christian based company that owns and operates two nursing homes & senior housing communities in davidson county, tn. The organization provides financial assistance to residents with limited resources as well as providing residential, intermediate & skilled nursing care including medicare and medicaid. The organization's mission is to provide reasonably priced retirement and health care services, promote living with dignity in a secure christian environment with daily efforts to enhance residents' spiritual, mental, and physical lives and assist financially those residents who have no other means to provide for their care.

The organization is a not-for-profit corporation that has qualified for tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is not a private foundation. The organization follows fasb asc guidance related to unrecognized tax benefits. The guidance clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an organization's financial statements. This interpretation prescribes a minimum probablility threshold that a tax position must meet before a financial statement benefit is recognized. The minimum threshold is defined as a tax position that is more likely than not to be sustained upon examination by the applicable taxing authority, including resolution of any related appeals or litigation processes, based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefit to be recognized is measured as the largest amount of benefit that is greater than fifty percent likely of being realized upon ultimate settlement. This interpretation must be applied to all existing tax positions upon initial adoption. Tax years that remain open for examination include years ended december 31, 2010 through december 31, 2013. The organziation has no tax penalties or interest reported in the accompanying financial statements.
