Mission

To provide vital support services to the needy and poor of the Boyd County area without prejudice to race,color, religion, sex or creed as funded by donations and grants received from the church, individuals, and businesses of the area.

Cares provides vital support services to the poor & needy community of boyd county. Vital services include utility assistance,emergency food, child care (diaper), prescriptions, birth certificates, temporary housing and working with the local community to support the giving tree & needy family fund for christmas.

FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The books are monitored daily and entered through quickbooks by the board of director's treasurer, mark baldock. The books are located at the organization's office. The executive director and one staff, other than mark baldock, signs all checks and organizational forms. Mark baldock is a cpa and is employed by natural energy utility corporation. Upon review, the financial statements are submitted each month for review and approved by the board of directors. Mark baldock chairs the board's finance committee that meets on a quarterly basis to consider additional funding options, new considerations for reporting and any other potential finance issue. All committee meetings including finance is represented and reported by process or consideration to the full board of directors.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES ARE PROVIDED BY THE JINGLE BELL CHARITY BALL (FOR FUNDS AND FOR GIFTS THAT ATTENDEES BRING AS PRICE OF ADMISSION), DONATIONS FROM LOCAL BUSINESSES, CLUBS, AND INDIVIDUALS. COMMUNITY MEMBERS CONTRIBUTE TO THE NEEDY FAMILIES FUND, AND CARES' SHARE OF THIS FUND (40%) PURCHASES KROGER CARDS THAT GO TO GT FAMILIES AND LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS THAT SIGN UP. CARES IS FUNDED BY DONATIONS FROM LOCAL COVENANT CHRUCHES, LOCAL BUSINESSES AND FOUNDATIONS, GRANTS AND FUNDRAISERS.
