“To recruit, train, and coordinate community volunteers to mentor clarke county school district children to make a positive difference in the childrens' lives. Mentors visit their mentee at school once each week for a shared activity such as lunch, playground time, and help with homework. Mentors make a one year commitment.”

“During this fiscal year, 80+ new mentor/mentee matches were established, and the program ended the fiscal year with 150+ active matches, resulting in thousands of mentor/mentee visists. Mentored students have better school attendance, fewer behavioral problems, better attitudes toward school, and a better likelihood of going on to higher education than do comparable non-mentored students.”
