The form 990 was prepared by the outside accountants and reviewed by the finance officer and senior management of gdn. It was also reviewed by the sub-committee of the board. A copy of the final 990 was provided to the full board prior to filing with the irs.

Every year, all staff and members of the board are required to sign the conflict of interest policy members and employees may not take part in discussion of or voting on any matter inwhich they have a conflict of interest and may not participate in any other way in the decision of any such matter.

(1) global research projects have been renamed as research capacity building program. This project supports quality research in many countries, involving local research teams from across the world. The multi-country studies allow for both comprehensive and comparative perspective across regions and countries. (2) international initiative for impact evaluation (3ie):- 3ie's mission is increasing development effectiveness through better use of evidence in developing countries. 3ie provides grants to studies of socio-economic development interventions in low and middle income countries and to conduct review of existing studies. 3ie has also engaged with policy-makers to promote use of evidence in designing and implementing development policies and programs and organize events to promote the production of high quality evidence. Through working with policy-makers, 3ie will seek to use evidence to improve policy and program design and implementation in coming years. The 3ie project ended on 31st of december 2014.

THE PILOT PROJECT AIMS TO ARRIVE AT A COMMON SET OF INDICATORS AND A METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT FOR UNDERTAKING SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, WHICH WILL BE SCALED-UP ACROSS A MUCH LARGER NUMBER OF COUNTRIES AND BECOME A PERIODIC EXERCISE,SUBJECT OF COURSE TO FUNDING. NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (AFRICA INITIATIVE):-GDN, WITH SUPPORT FROM THE FRENCH DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND FRENCH MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, HAS SELECTED 3 COUNTRY STUDIES ON NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN AFRICA: MOROCCO, MADAGASCAR AND MAURITIUS. RESEARCH CAPACITY BUILDINGS FOR LDCS:- THE RESEARCH CAPACITY PROGRAM FOR LDCS HAS BEEN LAUNCHED IN 2014, WITH A FOCUS ON SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN ECONOMICS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES THAT IS DESIGNED TO INFORM NATIONAL AND LOCAL POLICYMAKING. UNDER THIS PROJECT, GDN PARTNERED WITH FOUR RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS BASED AND WORKING IN LDCS TO HELP THEM IMPLEMENT A RESEARCH CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM THAT IS DESIGNED AND PROPOSED BY THE INSTITUTIONS THEMSELVES.
