Is the parent organization and independent and disinterested members of the novant health, inc. Board of trustees (who comprise the compensation and leadership committee of the board) review, approve, and oversee all aspects of compensation and benefits for certain executives ("executives") serving as the top management official(s) for novant health entities. Pwhs foundation, doing business as novant health foundation prince william medical center ("the foundation"), was formed to accept gifts, seek grants and invest funds to support prince william hospital doing business as novant heath prince william medical center and novant health haymarket medical center and prince william-fauquier cancer center, llc doing business as novant health cancer center as well as their strategic partners providing healthcare in the community. The foundation's mission is supporting the novant health system and improving the health of our communities, one person at a time. Novant health foundation prince william medical center is an integral part of the novant health system (collectively known as "novant health"), a not-for-profit integrated group of hospitals, physician clinics, outpatient centers and other healthcare service providers. Novant health consists of more than 1,200 physicians and 26,000 employees who make healthcare remarkable at nearly 500 locations, including 14 medical centers and hundreds of outpatient facilities and physician clinics. Headquartered in winston-salem, nc, novant health is committed to making healthcare remarkable for patients and communities, serving more than four million patients annually. Novant health is ranked as one of the nation's top 20 integrated delivery networks by ims health. In 2014, the novant health system reported $3.8 billion in revenues. General information the foundation exists to receive and administer charitable contributions primarily for the benefit of the hospital and the communities it serves. All fundraising events have multiple objectives: to raise money and provide an avenue for people in the community to support and learn more about the health system. Special events offer a connection to the foundation by participation, involvement and creating ownership in the community. All funding is evaluated with an eye on the impact in the community and how it will support improving healthcare. A foundation committee evaluates all funding requests, presents information to the foundation board, performs on-site visits and follows up on all donations. We are constantly evaluating and updating the foundation's funding priorities - identifying what projects will have the greatest impact in our community. Community outreach in 2014, the foundation's community outreach consisted of the following: provided significant funding to novant health prince william medical center for the purchase and outfitting of a mobile mammography coach. The mobile mammography coach provides convenient screenings for individuals in the community that may not otherwise be served. Funded an $18,000 smart beginnings grant, purchasing books for infants and school age children to expand and enhance early childhood readiness efforts. Provided donated books, clothing and toys to novant health prince william medical center for distribution to ease the suffering of patients. Helped fund a prescription drug medication program for indigent patients of novant health prince william and haymarket medical centers to ensure patients were able to afford their medication. There is a $1,500 student nursing internship scholarship in place for dependents of novant health employees in the northern virginia market. No scholarships were awarded in 2014.
