Rappahannock goodwill industries is a non profit provider of employment training, job placement services and other critical community-based services for people with barriers to employment - particularly those with disabilities. Rgi strives to provide an array of quality vocational and educational services so that participants can work independently.

While the laundry operations were a significant component of the organization's mission in prior years, recent changes in the regulatory environment have resulted in the laundry operations no longer being a viable means to achieve mission delivery. PART X, LINE 2:

The organization and the stores are both non-profit charitable organizations, other than private foundation, as defined by internal revenue code section 501(c)(3) and are not subject to federal or virginia income taxes. Management has evaluated the organization's tax positions, as required by the income taxes topic of the financial accounting standards board (fasb) accounting standards codification, and has determined that there are no uncertain tax position that require adjustment to or disclosure in the consolidated financial statements. The organization files form 990, return of organization exempt from income tax, annually with the united states department of the treasury. The organization is not currently under audit by any tax jurisdiction.
