VersAbility Resources was founded 65 years ago to create community-based services for people with disabilities. Parents refusing to send their children to live tucked away at state institutions, instead banded together with a goal of helping their children grow and lead lives of purpose and opportunity in the community. VersAbility has evolved to support 1,600 people with disabilities of all ages in leading productive and fulfilling lives. Our service area extends throughout the Hampton Roads region and includes the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. With over 1,000 employees, VersAbility is a major service provider, as well as a significant business and employer. People with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities are supported through early childhood, day support, community living, and four diverse employment programs. Many of these programs require community and private donations to operate and help people with disabilities thrive.
