Activity 2

Auxiliary services were provided to all students. Over 700 students were provided housing and meals. Construction on a new co-ed dorm began during the year and is scheduled for completion very soon. The new facility will provide new housing to over 100 students. In addition, the dining facilities on campus were completely renovated and upgrades were made to the menu offerings for students. A new field house was constructed, providing better facilities for the football players and coaches, enhancing the football program of the college. This created additional space and enhanced faclilities for the other sports programs. The baseball facilities were improved significantly, as well. The Mercantile continued to provide books, art and school supplies, and essential grocery and health products to students for their convenience.

Activity 3

Various services were provided to students through many programs and offices, including intramural sports, general athletics, the Outdoor Program, spiritual life, the Martin Brock Student Center, Admissions, Financial Aid, the Registrar, the Student Health Center, the Appalachian Center for Community Service, the Bonner program, the Centralized Student Assistance Office, and the Office of the Dean of Students. Nearly 890 students received some form of financial aid through various scholarships and grants, providing the opportunity to pursue degrees. Campus employment was made available to many students, providing financial resources and valuable work experience. Many community service opportunities were provided, including mission work and service through a Habitat for Humanity project.
